Muharram Conference: The Purpose of Life

On Wednesday 19th March 2003, Alulbayt (AS) Foundation held a special Muharram conference on the theme of "The Purpose of Life". The speakers on the occasion were the highly acclaimed Dr Murtadha Alidina and the honourable Sayed Mahdi Al-Modarresi. Dr Alidina talked about "Our link to the creator" mentioning the importance of monotheism and worship and how the Infallible Imams (AS), with Al-Mahdi (AF) in particular, provide the directions with which we can establish a personal relationship with Allah (SWT). Sayed Al-Modarresi spoke about "Our duties" and how we should go about fulfilling them as young Muslims living in the West. At the end of the conference there was an extensive question and answer session held by the two speakers, with many questions on fiqh (jurisprudence) that were concisely answered by the speakers.
